I have not been posting much at all recently, and I have to say that I am sorry for that. I’m not sure if I’m going to make my New Year’s Resolution for posting on here, but regardless of that I feel like I owe people that read this an apology simply for the fact that they have come here and there has been nothing new aside from an auto-updating tweet widget.
The truth is I’ve actually had a reason for this; I’ve changed my job. I’ve not left my current workplace, but I’ve changed where I work, and it’s as a Baker. At the moment I’m only a Trainee Baker but that’s because I need to be able to do it for a year before I get to drop the ‘Trainee’ part. Honestly, it’s been really fun. I’ve enjoyed it a lot and while it’s hard work, it’s also work that aside from a few places I can just get my head down and work without being interrupted. I’ve got new uniform, a new team that I work with and while I’m not glad to be leaving my old department, I felt that I hit the roof of what I could do. Long story short, I’ve been working all the hours I can find. As I type this I’m coming down from working two shifts yesterday with one being a night, so you can gauge it from there.
As for everything else, I’ve just not had the chance to write. I find stuff to write about and it goes into my to-do list (handwritten so I can’t cheat), but I end up not having the time and the inspiration for it just goes. The Pile of Shame will need a rework, I think, but it’s working. I think actually going through the games I’ve played and not the ones I want to play will make writing it a little easier and more importantly more fun to write. One thing that will definitely make my blogging easier is my EeePC: I got around to fixing the fan (read: remove it) and I’m working on getting the hard drive replaced so I can have a persistent install of Linux or Windows 7 on it. Someone on eBay started selling the ZIF adapters that fit the EeePC again so I got that and a good-sized drive. It’s either that or living off the 8GB live USB discs and not being able to make any changes, which isn’t enough for me anymore.
Anyway, no excuses. Just an apology and a minor note of celebration. I’ll write again soon, promise!
