So yeah, as much as I talked about it (and wrote all the articles on it so far) on GameOnYou, I wanted to write a little about the Expo on here.

I’m not a Horror fan. I played Resident Evil way too young in life, and it’s left it’s mark. Hell, I can’t even watch a Clown Called It without feeling like I’m going to be sick. I don’t know why I can’t put up with anything being genuinely disturbing, but it just makes me feel like I can’t watch it. I played RE4, but that wasn’t really so much of a horror game as the previous ones. I used to think that Horror was really only something that the older games could pull off, more because of technical limitations than genuine interest, Alien being a good example of this (If you don’t know, the game was scary not because it was all orchestrated, but because the Aliens didn’t make a sound when they moved, since no-one could code it for them to make footstep noises).
This entry contains spoilers, so I recommend NOT clicking the ‘Continue Reading’ until you have played the game, or don’t mind being spoiled.

Unlike your socks and probably like your tasteless curtains in your living room, games consoles change once every five years or so, so they’re easier to remember than the teacher you had for Chemistry a few years ago, or whether you really did get an A on that test in primary school.
Regardless, I’ve come to a conclusion, and that conclusion is that my gaming habits have changed, simply because of the way the market has shifted. I am now a corporation’s money-pawn. So why doesn’t that bother me?
