It’s been a month since I last posted. I’ve neglected this place, because, quite simply, I’ve been relying on my lifestream for new content. As much as I appreciate using the lifestream to get some instantly generated content on the site, it’s made things difficult. Every blog entry I write I have to write an excerpt for; I have to essentially put it on display like I’m proud of it. A quip, a summarisation of the post, or something else. My frontpage is good, but it requires people to click through to a blog entry. In other words, the primary function for my site is being hidden behind a flashy frontend. Not good.
In short; I’m going to go back to a modified k2 theme soon. Probably by the end of the week, with a few fresh headers and redoing the sidebar. Again.
SO. Onto better things.
Been playing Mass Effect 2. Finished playing Mass Effect 2. Started another play-through of Mass Effect 2. Glad I bought it on day one. The game itself is near flawless. I wouldn’t say that it is Game Of The Year; it doesn’t feel as revolutionary as a game should be to have that title. I played as an Engineer, and I don’t regret it. I have a maxed out Mechanic skill (longer duration of powers based against more power), maxed out Attack Drone, and I’m close to hitting the level cap. In my first playthrough almost everyone died. Six out of my group died along with the crew (and I didn’t have Zaeed), and I survived with Miranda, Jacob, Thane and Mordin. I’m doing a ‘perfect’ save for ME3, but it’s certainly a lesson in preparation. And once again, there’s a ‘point of no return’ in the game, one of the few problems with the game, the only other real problem is the level cap. It’s level 30, and way too low.
Aion is starting to get into that phase of ‘Do I really want to grind anymore’, which is a bit of a pain. Being 47, it’s going to be a massive grind to get to 50. Things are getting bumpy in Cyrus (the legion I’m in), with the guild leader saying with the game as it stands, he doesn’t want to be the leader anymore. I honestly don’t know what we will do; I’m not a leader in the sense that he is. I still need an absolute authority to back me up in order to get done what needs to be done. I’ll be doing more Steel Rake runs, and there’s the double experience event in a week or so. I’ll hit 48 before then, and then we’ll be doing a rifting night. I hope.
KAECY.US is the freshly resurrected blog of Allan 'Kaecyus' Bowden-Smith; an Aion nut with too much time on his hands.
