I’ve had a few problems with my site this weekend, as some people know. I’ve been with hostnine for two years, and I got in contact with them because WordPress just died. And wordpress doesn’t die. It has fatal errors; it’s PHP goes loco with code errors. Not just a white screen.
So, let me say this:
- This problem, on closer inspection, bears striking similarity to what happened when hostnine’s servers momentarily went offline, breaking the upload I was putting up at the time (which was a plugin)
- You do not tell your customers that they are on their own with a product in a service that you provide as a perk and a selling point.
- It did not take 28 minutes for my support ticket. It took 3 hours to be effectively told I’m on my own.
- You modified my server files without my permission. ‘Dropping a test file’ that was difficult as all hell to get rid of to make way for my blog.
So we’re done. When my contract runs out, I will not be renewing it. I’m looking at alternative hosting now. Glad to see I’ve seen your true colours. You’re fine when things run, but when they don’t, you may as well not have support.
KAECY.US is the freshly resurrected blog of Allan 'Kaecyus' Bowden-Smith; an Aion nut with too much time on his hands.
Welcome to the site5 family, hopefully you find the support a bit better =D
Anything is better than what Hostnine has. The best they did with support was reboot my server four hours after I initially complained.
