This Geth is part of our Team. It's fighting the other Geth. I can explain it later.

Not feeling too good today. Got a massive headache and an acid reflux that I won’t soon forget. Dunno what on earth I’ve done to it, but it’s certainly painful. I’ve got my sunglasses on at the moment, and it seems to be helping with the headache. I think I’ll get into bed as soon as I’ve written this; there’s not much else to do other than play Mass Effect 2, and I’m not up to playing on Insanity right now. I know it’s only for the 70 Gamerscore, but I really want that 1015/1015. It’d be my first 100% on any 360 game. I’ve already got more on it than I have on Project Sylpheed, and all I have to do on that one is keep killing stuff until I destroy a certain ‘weight’ of starship. I think it’s 10 gigatons and I’m on 3. Whoever does that deserves the 100% score.

Anyway, the internet connection came on about 3am this morning; I only know this because Trillian tells me when it manages to reconnect. It had been off for about 11 hours, and I realised how dependant on it I really am. Granted, I could live without downloading videos and playing games online. But talking to other people was pretty much a staple, and I had to jack into my phone’s signal to get something. It was GPRS speeds (aka 117kbps; about 1/30th of my landline’s genuine bandwidth), but it was enough. Guess I’m addicted to it, huh?

Speaking of Mass Effect 2, guess who finally got past the Praetorian on Horizon on Insanity? Yup; me. I can understand why some people go straight for the hardest difficulty on games now. The feeling of acheivement at beating the scene on it’s hardest difficulty was palpable. I actually stood up and celebrated. Like I said, it’s only 70 Gamerscore, but doing that and visiting every planet in an unexplored sector will give me 100% completion until Kasumi’s DLC comes out. Which is the 6th of April, folks. It will be paid DLC, and will be the last character-based DLC for the game (unless they somehow discover a new region of the ship). I’d like to see some character specific DLC. Like a mission for Ruthless, War Hero and Sole Survivor, depending on which you choose. Perhaps as part of a pack, and when you complete the one that’s relevant you can complete the others. Bah, I should be further in this course so I can make this sort of stuff. D<

One Moar Thing on the topic of Mass Effect 2: Apparently, Tali and Legion were originally meant to be recruited much earlier in the game than they are in the final version. Just thought I’d throw that out there.

Tomorrow is another driving lesson, work, and a Five-Minute Rant. See you tomorrow.

PS – GETH! GET DOWN!

"I don't want to hear your life story, pal." TOO LATE. : D

My appointment at the Osteopath seems to have worked wonders. My arm is still a little sore from the manipulation (apparently that’s the actual term for it), but I was able to do my driving lesson without anything more than a paracetamol. So if I can drive without too much discomfort, I can work. I’m probably going to get put on the tills for the next few nights because of this (so-called ‘employers duty of care’ swings both ways, I guess. =/), but it recovered, and I’m able to move it properly without too much of a problem.

Been playing ME2 again; this time as a Paragon Sentinel. I’m trying to get the acheivement for the Insanity setting, but I need an obviously defense-based character if I’m going to have a shot at it. And because I played an attack-based character for my real save (Engineer), I’m not very well suited for the playthrough. I’m gonna just blitz through it, get as few people killed as possible, then play the Insane game for the achievement, as well as having a pair of contrasting characters for Mass Effect 3, when it comes out.

Going to try to get back into the meat of the Train2Game course as well. I’ve had several false starts, all with reason or excuse. Still, it’s annoying as all hell to see that black and brown folder sitting next to my desk doing nothing, or rather me doing nothing with it. I’ll have to put it somewhere into my daily routine, or have the Train2Game site as my startup page as an active reminder. Aion took the time up that this gave up when I got stonewalled by missing materials. I need to use the time more constructively; playing videogames is only going to give me headaches and a bigger gamerscore, after all.

I’m going to be working on the site over the next few days as well. Nothing major; just moving some of the links around on the topbar, making sure visitors have access to all the links, as some are hidden in non-existent drop-down menus now. Some links might change or not work that were working before the tweaking. It’ll all get fixed. Until then, use the search box to find what you need. Don’t bother hitting Enter or Return, it’ll search automatically. The beauties of AJAX coding. : D

Watch me fall; I'll become your enemy.

Been a while since I did a cosmetic refit, and I’ve never gone back to a theme. Summary:

  • Gone back to K2, although this time I’ve gone for a stable 1.0.2 version compared to using 1.0 RC7. There’s a few changes, most of which I like.
  • Changed the logo drastically. As much as I like the ‘defused’ font, there was no way that I’d be able to reproduce what I had in any sort of template for me to use to make more headers. So I went with a cleaner font, with less effects, and it actually looks better for it (viera.nu once again supplied me with inspiration on the logo).
  • Lifestream is still present, but on the sidebar rather than as a main portion of the page. As much as I liked irresistible’s frontpage, doesn’t change the fact that half the code was locked down, and the other half I couldn’t decipher properly.

In short, I cleaned it up. Not all the links are working right now, but the major ones (Blog, About Me and Archives) are working. I missed K2′s Archive’s page.
